The SA Council for Business Women (SACBW) hosts their annual national congress and gala dinner on 16 and 17 October at The Roots in Potchefstroom with the theme “Visible”. At the congress delegates can expect to be wowed by international and national speakers to inspire the business women (and men). This is a special year for the SACBW as they celebrate their 25th year anniversary and also announce the Business Woman of the year 2013.
The SACBW is a nonprofit organisation and is represented nationally by successful business women. It is affiliated to the AHi and the president of the SACBW serves on the national board to represent Women in Business.
The Council has a partnership with The Job Club that focuses on job creation, training and business opportunities. The members of the Council are the mentors and coaches of The Job Club’s Women of Worth (WOW) women. The Council sees this as their transformation process to identify and uplift informal business women to be able to become successful and upgrade their businesses to the formal sector.
The council was established with the intention and goal to find an organisation that represents women in business and create a vehicle for women to network, learn from each other, grow and mentor other women in the field of business. Their slogan “Unlocking potential” is key to this organisation as it is the explicit goal to see women grow to their full potential, reach their goals and succeed in business. The yearly gala dinner and congress is a platform where the women receive recognition, advanced training and network opportunities.
“The SACBW aims to be the leading business women’s organisation in South Africa through the development of human potential by ensuring that we unlock the hidden potential of South African women in business, celebrate their achievements, promote the business interests of our members and create a platform for business women to contribute. This year’s congress theme of “VISIBLE” is aimed at helping delegates learn how to brand themselves and grow their businesses to a level where they will stand out and be noticed. The knowledge gained here will be invaluable for all delegates, men and women, and help them to take the next step up to excel”, stated Melinda Stark, President of the SACBW.
This year, delegates can look forward to the global adventurer, motivational speaker, corporate entertainer and lover of life, Hein Wagner, as guest speaker at the gala dinner. Hein Wagner is living proof that despite the challenges that come our way, anything is possible. He does not allow his blindness to stand in the way of his dreams and people often refer to him as a blind man with exceptional vision. The congress will have two very influential speakers to inspire and uplift all delegates. Donna Rachelson, CEO, founder and author of bestselling book of Branding & Marketing YOU will speak to delegates about this topic.
International speaker, Loral Langemeier, founder and CEO of Live Out Loud and known internationally as “The Millionaire Maker”, will speak to delegates about creating wealth, identifying opportunities and gaining financial freedom. She has shared her high value strategies at seminars all over the world, teaching people her simple recipe for capitalising on their skills and talents to make new money. She is author of 4 national bestselling books; The Millionaire Maker, The Millionaire Maker’s Guide to Wealth Cycle Investing and The Millionaire Maker’s Guide to Creating a Cash Machine for Life, Put More Cash In Your Pocket and her latest book Yes! Energy: The Equation To Do Less, Make More. She is surely an inspiration to other business women.
There will be an interactive expert panel discussion on national and international opportunities for entrepreneurs, which promises to be very informative and could just spark an idea for new business creation for delegates. Theo Venter, Special Advisor at the Potchefstroom Business School of NWU, will lead this panel discussion.
